The Old Mill

Fettercairn village sits on the edge of serious countryside: the Angus Glens lead into the Cairngorms, the Victorian Heritage Trail winds through the scenic Cairn O Mount road, and eastwards lie fishing villages, cliffs and beaches at St Cyrus and Lunan Bay. The Old Mill lets you base yourself here for hiking, whisky tours, or simply exploring what's within an hour's drive—the village itself has a shop, café, and its own distillery with visitor tours.

The property is a converted cornmill with an upside-down layout that makes sense: the first floor holds the living space and kitchen, opening onto a glass-fronted balcony with views across fields, while the two bedrooms are downstairs. One bedroom has French doors to a front patio. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering with electric oven, hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer. A small stream runs through the rear garden. You get two bedrooms (one double, one with two single beds that zip together), one shower room, and the whole place to yourself. Electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. Note that smoking is not permitted.
