About Cardhu Country House

Knockando's quiet stretch of Moray countryside, with its hills and glens rolling towards Aberlour, sets the scene for Cardhu Country House. This adults-only B&B offers six rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, making it a settled base for those wanting to explore the surrounding landscape without the bustle of a larger town.

Mornings start with breakfast, and guests can spend time outdoors in the garden or on the outdoor seating area, taking in views over the garden and towards the mountains beyond. Free WiFi is available throughout, and free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward. Luggage storage is on hand for those breaking up a longer journey through the area.

Walking and cycling routes run through the surrounding countryside, and fishing can be arranged nearby for those wanting to spend a day on the water. A pub, restaurant and other eateries are all within easy reach for evening meals. It's a straightforward, well-placed spot for anyone touring Moray's glens and hills.

Lovely stay near both Knockando Woolmill and Cardhu Distillery. Private car park was spacious and easy, the room was lovely with opening windows, a comfortable bed and very clean modern bathroom appointed with plenty of towels and robes. Nice views of the large back garden which had many things in bloom as well as a tawny owl we heard at night. Colin is an exceptional host. We opted for the dinner in the dining room and it was exceptional, shared the sticky toffee for dessert. After a long day of driving and sightseeing it was nice not to have to drive for a meal. It was every bit as good as a fine restaurant. Cardhu Distillery is a short walk away and there are some highland coos in their field which made for a nice after-dinner walk. Breakfast was perfect with good French-press coffee and many options. All very well cooked. Really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area.

This is a true B&B. It starts with a warm welcome and friendly tour of the home. Before arrival we had received a menu to order ahead for a weekday stay, and highly recommend doing so if you stay when dinner is available. Room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was excellent as well. This is a great location to visit some distilleries including walking to Cardhu just down the way. I look forward to returning to the Cardhu Country House for a future holiday.

We got a room last minute and were welcomed very kindly! Colin is a great host! Everything was perfect. Breakfast and Dinner were made with love. We felt at home far from home!

Amazing. Colin and Sarah are impeccable hosts. The food was the best we had in an entire two week trip to Scotland that included amazing food throughout. Seriously, eat here. The room was huge, included fantastic views, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Bathroom was also big and had a great shower. Colin even made us a fire in the living room downstairs for a cozy evening reading by the fire. Above and beyond. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough.
