About The Dowans Hotel of Speyside
The Dowans Hotel of Speyside occupies a grand old building on Dowans Road above Aberlour, the kind of solid Victorian house that suits its setting among the hills and glens of Moray. It has the feel of a country house rather than a chain hotel, with gardens and outdoor seating for taking in the surrounding scenery.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, and there's a bridal suite for those marking a special occasion, as the hotel also operates as a wedding venue with meeting rooms available for other gatherings. A restaurant and bar serve guests on site, breakfast is included, and packed lunches can be arranged for days out. Free WiFi, luggage storage and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, with free on-site parking for anyone arriving by car.
Aberlour sits at the heart of whisky country, and the hotel is well placed for exploring nearby distilleries, along with golf, fishing and walking in the surrounding countryside. Further pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found close by in the town itself, making it a straightforward base for a Speyside stay.
