What guests say
The hotel and rooms are lovely. Bedrooms and bathrooms well appointed and sheets crisp. Food was excellent and the service was too. It's fairly obvious the hotel has an excellent management team. That was demonstrated last night when one of our party asked about a scotch on display. Our server apologiy and explained she was still learning but would find out. The owner was at the table next to ours and discreetly went up to the bar and explained to the server about the scotch in question. Our server came back with the answer and you could tell that the interaction with the owner had been positive and supportive. Great example of how leadership should be. Highly recommend staying here and would love to come back.

Yesterday we dropped in to this dog friendly hotel after a long walk with our dog 🐶 Dylan to have a pint outside with a pleasant view of the river Spey. Based on the menu, the service and the very friendly and pleasant staff we decided to come back later for a meal inside. They were busy but managed to fit us in an early slot in the evening. The restaurant area inside is very tasteful decorated with plenty of evidence around you that you are in the key whisky production area of Scotland. All the staff that we met were lovely and all though they did not have it on their cocktails list they made me a fantastic Negroni. They were busy, which I always think is a good sign, and we only had the table for two hours but we never felt rushed by the staff. There is a good choice and my wife who is a pescatarian had no problem finding dishes to choose from. Equally Veggies should have no issue at this establishment. All the dishes that we had were of a very high standard and better than some so called high end restaurants that I have been to. During both the afternoon and evening visit our dog was provided with water, some biscuits and lots of fuss, this is obviously a very dog friendly establishment, I suppose the clue in the two dog statues standing guard at the main entrance 😊. On the menu they have trio selections of different Whisky in flavour groups of various prices. These are a great way to try multiple drams and for what we thought was a reasonable price. So we had one of these between our main and our pudding, which made a really nice interlude. On our travels we don’t normally eat out two nights on the trot but we are making an exception to our rule and have booked in again tonight. To sum up if you are in the area and fancy a quality meal with great service and location at a reasonable price then don’t miss The Mash Tun Hotel

This is both a hotel and a restaurant. We did not stay at the hotel but stopped by the restaurant for dinner, and I’m so glad we did. We enjoyed a fantastic soup and a perfectly cooked steak. All of the food we had was top notch. Their cocktail and drink selection was amazing. But above all, the service was genuinely awesome. The staff was very accommodating and made some really great recommendations for other places to visit, drink and even eat nearby. There is a wonderful selection of Speyside scotches, many of which are hand picked because the distillery staff eat here too! There is also a cigar room (you may need to ask for it) where you can choose a great cigar to go with your scotch. Smoking a nice cigar while drinking a local Speyside scotch along the river Spey was definitely a bucket list item, and they were so happy to help make that happen. This place is definitely 5 stars!

Live locally but only just got round to visiting the Mash Tun with family, who were staying the week with us. It's everything we expected and more. Great service and welcoming staff and the food and drink was heavenly. We took our small dog too and were supplied water for him also. Fantastic and already booked a table to go back in months ahead. Recommended if staying in and around Aberlour. A+++++
