About The Willows - Yr Helyg

Tucked into the Lleyn Peninsula near Abersoch, this multi-award-winning site makes no secret of what it offers: peace, luxury and jaw-dropping views across Cardigan Bay to Snowdonia. The state-of-the-art washrooms include free use of fridges, microwaves and hairdryers, while spacious pitches are deliberately rotated for tents to maximise breathing room. A large enclosed exercise field, dog wash and complimentary poo bags make it genuinely dog-friendly, and there's bike hire on site if you fancy exploring the 24 beaches scattered within eight miles.

This is emphatically not a place for ball games, late-night revelry or unsupervised children tearing about—owners Anna and Miles are refreshingly upfront about that. If you're after a clubhouse and evening entertainment, look elsewhere. But for couples and small families seeking a refined, unhurried escape amid spectacular coastal scenery, The Willows delivers a certain refined ambience that few can match.

Lovely site. We were on a hard standing full service pitch. Plenty of space and nice views over farmland. Some grass pitches look out over the bay, stunning views. The facilities are modern and clean, good WiFi , mobile and radio reception, and two EV chargers are available for guests. They have a well maintained large enclosed dog exercise area plus dog wash. All staff welcoming and friendly, this is a gem and an excellent base to explore the area.

Great calm adult only site. Was very peaceful. We went for Easter Weekend and battled Storm Dave, they tried to allocate tent pitches that were a little more sheltered but we still had the worst of it, ended up having to take down the tents and just keep the 1 small tent for 1 of our 3 nights! The owner came to check on us a couple times and did offer us to move pitch, but we didn’t want to battle more of the wind trying to pitch them back up in another place. The site has lovely clean toilets and warm good water pressured showers, plus an indoor wash up area with a microwave and kettle. Secure dog field which was well loved by my speedy dog, fantastic feature. It’s a short drive into the village, some great beaches nearby. We had 1 small tent, 1 medium tent and 1 living area and we were asked to book 2 pitches, but we only used about 30cm of the second pitch and could of fit onto one pitch if we moved over a little. Therefore unfortunately we are not likely to return as for the 2 of us plus a dog, £80 a night for the two pitches was steep, probably cheaper to bring a bigger tent to share instead if it means fitting on 1 pitch, then we will happily return.
