We have just returned from a four-night stay at this caravan site in Aberystwyth, and I have to say the site itself is absolutely beautiful. The location is stunning, the facilities are excellent, and we were fortunate to have fantastic weather throughout our stay. The pitches and surroundings are well maintained, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy the area. Unfortunately, the one thing that let our stay down was the welcome and overall experience with the host, Jill. In our experience of staying at many caravan and camping sites, we are usually greeted warmly, shown to our pitch, given information about the facilities, and made to feel welcome from the moment we arrive. Sadly, that wasn't our experience here. From the start, we felt somewhat uncomfortable and didn't feel particularly welcomed. There was very little guidance or introduction to the site, and unlike many other sites, we received no advance information about the narrow access roads or recommended routes, which would have been helpful. On our first evening, we placed a bag of coal on our fire pit, which created some smoke. Jill came over and addressed the situation in front of other guests, which we found quite embarrassing. We completely understand that site rules must be followed, but the way it was handled left us feeling uncomfortable. We were staying on Pitch 19, the patio pitch, and were not clearly told which section of grass belonged to our pitch. As there was nobody staying next to us at the time, we placed our deck chairs on a nearby grass area. We were then asked to move them because the grass was due to be cut and we were told another camper would be using the neighbouring pitch. In the end, no one arrived on that pitch during our stay, which left us feeling confused about why we had been asked to move. We then relocated our chairs to the area we were told belonged to our pitch, which was beside the grey water and toilet waste disposal point. Later, we were asked to move again because another campervan needed access to empty their waste tanks. Having to repeatedly move our chairs and belongings due to unclear guidance about where we could sit became frustrating and added to the feeling that we were not able to properly relax and enjoy our pitch. It's a real shame because the site itself is genuinely fantastic and has so much going for it. The facilities are excellent, the setting is beautiful, and the site is clearly well cared for. However, customer service and hospitality are a big part of any holiday experience, and unfortunately we didn't feel valued or welcomed during our stay. My husband, our relative, and I all came away feeling the same. With a warmer, friendlier approach, clearer communication, and a little more attention to making guests feel at ease, this site could be exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and facilities, but the overall experience was unfortunately affected by how we were made to feel during our visit.

I am just back from a two night stay at this lovely little site. The toilets and showers are immaculate and very spacious and the owner about on the site often. The location is on some great biking roads and motorcyclists are made most welcome. The river was lovely and cooling for a swim. I went here as a solo female traveller and it was made clear that I could call at any time if I needed anything due to this - I didn't and the site felt very safe - however it was a very nice gesture that was much appreciated. I will certainly return for another stay.

Just spent a night here and we had a lovely stay. A really relaxing spot, lovely pitches, great toilets and showers, wash area, and organised recycling. The only downfall was early evening we got attacked by a swarm of midges, and have been suffering overnight with burning itchy bites, so would recommend taking something for this just incase!
