Glamis Castle

Fabulous place. Took my friend who is in a wheelchair and the access from the car park is good. The castle had said there was a video tour available on the ground floor for disabled people. It was fantastic. A guided tour through the castle, each room or space with a different guide, all so knowledgeable and interesting tales and stories told. We really felt like we had been around the castle. So well done Glamis, I can’t remember any other places doing this so well. The restaurant is accessible and the menu is very good. You can sit outside if you wish and the is a small coffee, cake and ice cream bar outside. The grounds are accessible but be careful as the paths are gravel and difficult to push a wheelchair on. It is mainly level with a short steeper section to the kitchen walled garden. The shop has lovely things, too tempting! The main highlight was the staff who were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.

Fabulous nostalgic trip to Glamis for both me and my 92yr young mum. She used to do Scottish dancing at the castle 20 years ago, it's been over 35 years since I was last here. There staff are so lovely and knowledgeable, loved the tour and there's a great cafe & gift shop. The grounds are stunning but too much for my mum for one day so will need to return soon.

Nice day out with my adult daughter - the weather was kind so we did the circle walk through the wood and garden, very beautiful. Had lunch in the restaurant - good variety of food stuffs and reasonably priced. Great gift shop too and the antique floor is always worth a browse (I started my Christmas shopping!!) All in all - this is a nice day out and worth the price of admission. We might do the castle tour another time.

Spent a fantastic afternoon here. Guided tour and gardens cost £19.50 for one adult. No one actually checked tickets when going around the gardens so not sure how that works. The shop was lovely, check out upstairs too. Restaurant was fantastic and delighted to see everything clearly marked for dietary requirements. My vegan friendly sandwich was delicious. Guided tour was really interesting. My only constructive criticism is it was far too fast. Missed some parts of rooms as we were ushered into the next room as there was tours in front of us and im assuming behind us too so as timing felt limited in each room. Missed being able to have a good look around each room. Really interesting history. No photos were allowed until youre at the last room. There was a play park for kids, Highland cows, gardens which will be lovely in bloom, they were all quite sparse today, fantastic woodland walk, italian garden was lovely. Look out for the wee pet cemetery and the wooden statues in the macbeth loop. All in all a fantastic afternoon here.
