Turpins Cottage

Turpins Cottage is a converted coach house on a working farm near Belper, with nine bedrooms spread across three floors and the capacity to sleep 18 guests. The building retains its historical character—Grade II listed, with hand-cut lintels and barrel-vaulted ceilings—while offering the practical setup of a large group property. The main living spaces occupy the ground and first floors; upstairs are six more bedrooms. A games room, raised decked area with garden furniture and barbecue, and access to a shared 2-acre paddock and wooded dell give everyone room to spread out. Parking is available on site.

The five bathrooms are distributed throughout, with a mix of baths and showers. The kitchen is equipped for cooking at scale, with an electric cooker, dishwasher and full-size fridge-freezer; a utility room houses the washing machine. Bed linen and Wi-Fi are included; heating is gas central. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking.

Belper, with its river gardens and World Heritage mill sites, is two miles away. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Matlock are all within a short drive. Shops and pubs are two miles distant. The grounds have steps down to them, and a stream runs adjacent.
