It's a nice trip if your into avaition as you are right next to RAF Valley as the Hawk T.2s and Texan T.1 Some times you also get the H145 Jupiter HT.1 doing low level pilot training, you can get pretty close to them as long as you don't go directly under them when they are hovering. You do have to walk down the gravel path but you do get some good photos. One thing your not allowed to fly kites and drones as your right next to a MoD base. The place is also dog friendly and has electric hook up. Would highly recommend, would go back again.

Just returned from another fantastic holiday at Trewan Sands. We absolutely love this site and stay there regularly. As a family with two young children we find it perfect for us as there is plenty of space for them to run around and play, they especially enjoy watching the passing trains and planes landing and taking off at the RAF base which is located very close. The site owners couldn't be more friendly and are always there to help if needed. Campsite facilities include toilet and shower blocks that are cleaned regularly to a high standard. We are looking forward to returning soon 😊

This site is an absolute gem. We initially booked for a few nights but quickly asked to extend our stay. We were in a touring caravan and the facilities were exceptional. The toilet and shower blocks were immaculately clean even when the site got busier towards the end of our stay. The site owners, Carl and Fiona, couldn’t have been more welcoming and were always on hand to answer questions or just to have a chat, even offering fantastic advice about our new caravan. The planes from RAF Valley made the stay even better! We will definitely be returning for our next adventure!

PLEASE DO NOT PAY UPFRONT BEFORE YOU HAVE SEEN THE SITE. We booked a camping pitch at Trewan Sands- please do not make the same mistake we made. We arrived to find a windswept desolate exposed site. The camping field is right next to a railway line where trains were thundering past. Nobody was there to greet us and when the owner Carl eventually arrived, he was gruff and unwelcoming. The toilet facilities is the camping field where old converted trailers that were very dated, not well looked after and not very clean. We were not comfortable with our family using them for a week. Carl the owner told us that he only provides 2 rolls of toilet paper for the toilets and that "you don't expect good facilities when you are camping" - well actually we do. He then showed us the toilet block for the caravans, the was wet urine stains in the shower cubical (see photograph). Carl initially tried to claim they were shower gel but later agreed with us that it was urine. When we stated that we did not feel the site facilities were up to the require standard, he stated that returning half of our 8-day booking that we had paid upfront in good faith would be reasonable. However, after protracted email and telephone negotiations Fiona and Carl only returned 26% of our money which meant that our sons' summer holiday had to be cut short due to financial constraints. On a positive note we found an alternative location later that day, that had a beautiful site, a lovely welcoming host, hotel worthy facilities and was almost £20 per night cheaper. So do some research- there are better sites are out there.
