Cefn Trefor offers a peaceful, back-to-basics camping experience right in the middle of the island, with spacious farm-field pitches surrounded by wildlife and far-reaching views towards Rhosneigr's coast and Snowdonia's peaks.
The facilities are simple but functional – a shower and toilet block, washing-up area and car parking by each pitch – suiting those who prefer wild camping's spirit without forsaking all creature comforts. Dogs are welcome year-round, and the site happily hosts rallies, student groups and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
Despite its remote feel, Cefn Trefor connects easily to Anglesey's highlights: Holyhead's shops and pubs lie fifteen minutes away, while medieval Beaumaris is a half-hour drive in the opposite direction. With cycling, watersports, fishing and mountain biking all nearby, there's plenty to fill your days – though with panoramas like these, simply watching the clouds roll over the horizon has considerable appeal.
