About Driftwood Boutique Guest House
Driftwood — Broc Môr in Welsh — is a small guest house on Station Road in Rhosneigr, on Anglesey's west coast. The building was refurbished to a high standard in 2022 and now runs somewhere between a boutique hotel and a traditional bed and breakfast: the fittings and finish are hotel standard, but there are only six rooms and the owners are on hand.
Those six bedrooms include three with king or super-king beds, one standard double, and two larger rooms that can be made up as twins or as family rooms. Several have sea views over the village rooftops. Rooms are done in a restrained coastal palette with good linen, decent bathrooms with proper showers, and the usual tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast is cooked to order and served in the dining room, with Welsh produce on the plate and a vegetarian option as standard.
What the house does not have is a restaurant or bar, but that matters little here: Rhosneigr has a good handful of places to eat within a few minutes' walk, including the Oyster Catcher, Sandy Mount House and a well-known chip shop, plus cafés and surf shops along the main street.
The beaches are the reason most people come. Traeth Llydan and Traeth Crigyll are both a short stroll away and are among the best in Wales for surfing, kitesurfing and paddleboarding; boards and lessons can be arranged locally. Further afield, Cable Bay, Newborough Forest and the South Stack cliffs are all within half an hour. Rhosneigr has its own railway station on the Holyhead line, so it is one of the few places on the island you can reach easily without a car. Driftwood suits couples, small families and anyone here for the water.
What guests say
Wonderfully comfortable rooms, clean and modern. Very well kept. Beautifully decorated guest house. Free tea and coffee in the breakfast room all day. Was made to feel so welcome, and such friendly help and guidance. Excellent location too. Easy walking distance into the centre of Rhosneigr, but just out enough to be quiet and peaceful. Just a great place all round.

We had a fabulous stay at Driftwood, our room had a wonderful view of the beach and perfectly positioned to watch the sunset. The bedding was crisp cotton and a fan was provided to cool the room as it was very hot weather when we stayed. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb and an excellent choice from the menu.

Booked because visiting Family at Bodfan Campsite - 5 min walk away - very easy. Also easy walk into Rhosneigr - 8 mins. Beach access easy. Shops and pub en-route. Room was comfy (Room 4 ) although bed is quite 'high/tall' and I am old and quite 'short', so care needed, but not a problem, just an observation. Nice and clean everywhere. Bathroom (en-suite ) was lovely with warm shower. Towels provided. Coffee-making facilities perfect. Breakfast ( 08.30am-09.30am) was very tasty and 'filling', with plenty of choice. Staff were delightful and helpful with everything. Self check-in was easy. Stayed 2 nights, and will be happy to return in the future.
