Cullew Bothy

Couples and small families will find Cullew Bothy works well as a self-contained base. The two-bedroom cottage has a ground-floor open-plan living space with a wood-burning stove, plus a kitchen where you can cook proper meals. One bedroom downstairs has zip-and-link beds; upstairs, reached by a spiral staircase, is a kingsize room. The bathroom combines a bath and separate shower. A single pet is welcome. Parking is available for two cars.

The building itself is notable for its custom joinery—the interior woodwork and kitchen worktops were made from an oak tree that fell naturally on the land. Outside, a hot tub sits on a raised patio overlooking the enclosed lawn; robes are provided. Essentials including heating, electricity, linen and towels are covered, plus Wi-Fi and on-site parking. The setting is genuinely remote, surrounded by farmland with livestock grazing in neighbouring fields.

Walking routes through Glen Prosen and Clova start nearby; Glen Shee is about 25 miles away for hill activities. Kirriemuir is a short drive off. Smoking is not permitted inside.
