Druids Knowe

Glen Esk draws walkers and quiet-seekers to its rural valleys and open moorland, and Druids Knowe sits on the edge of Tarfside, well-positioned for exploring the glen and the hills beyond. The cottage is a sympathetically updated traditional building that has kept its character while gaining modern comfort—underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove in the living room, and full kitchen facilities including a dishwasher. Three king beds are spread across the floors: one downstairs with its own ensuite, two upstairs served by a second bathroom. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial fuel for the burner.

Parking for two cars sits on the property, and there are gardens at front and back—the rear one has seating and a barbecue. One bedroom is on the ground floor, and the property is accessible, though there are four steps down into the back garden. Pets stay free. The location works well for hillwalking: Mount Keen, Scotland's easternmost Munro, is a few miles west, and the glen itself offers various routes through changing terrain. Glenesk Retreat and Folk Museum lies nearby, documenting local rural heritage. Smoking is not permitted inside.
