Carnanamish
Argyll and Bute
Carnanamish stands above Tobermory on the Isle of Mull, a contemporary house built to capture views across the harbour towards Calve Island and the Sound of Mull. Large windows frame the landscape from the open-plan first-floor living spaces, where a wood-burning stove and patio doors opening onto a balcony create a focus for gathering. The layout is unusual: four bedrooms and two bathrooms occupy the ground floor, leaving the upper storey entirely for living and dining, with the kitchen positioned to overlook the water.
Three of the four bedrooms are doubles; the fourth has two single beds. All come with quality linen and comfortable mattresses. Downstairs there is a walk-in shower room and a separate toilet. Upstairs, a bathroom with bath and shower serves the living areas. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. Heating, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and logs for the wood-burner are all included. The property sleeps 8 and has parking for four cars; one well-behaved pet is welcome.
Mull is a serious destination for walkers, wildlife watchers and anyone seeking quiet countryside by the sea. Tobermory itself, with its brightly painted seafront buildings and handful of shops and restaurants, is just downhill. The cottage suits families or friends wanting a comfortable base to explore the island's dramatic coastline and moorland, or simply to settle in and watch the light change across the water.
