About Brook Farm

Brook Farm delivers exactly what you'd hope for from a proper Derbyshire campsite: open fields, riverside pitches along the Dove, and enough space that you never feel on top of your neighbours. The owners deliberately keep numbers low rather than packing people in, leaving acres for kids and dogs to tear about while you sort the campfire or barbecue in peace. Facilities are minimal – a portable toilet and not much else – so this is strictly for those who value location and elbow room over creature comforts.

Ashbourne's five minutes away for provisions, while two country pubs sit within walking distance (the nearest about 25 minutes on foot). The Peak District proper starts a 10-minute drive north for serious hiking, and there's an hourly bus service if you've left the car behind. Alton Towers lurks 20 minutes away for anyone craving white knuckles over pastoral calm.

We used this caravan site as a stopover for Alton Towers and thought it was great value and a very well kept campground. The owner Anne couldn’t have been more friendlier and accommodated all of our needs as well. She was so helpful and informed us of all the local places we could visit. The camp ground itself was spotless and relaxing and we all had a lovely nights sleep- would highly recommend

Peaceful, picturesque and perfect for us. Lovely owners who want campers to enjoy their stay. Lovely to watch children having fun, but respectful of other campers. Wonderful for dogs, allowed to be off leash, as long as they are under control and not disturbing anyone. The sound of the church clock and neighbouring cows a delight. We will definitely be back, highly recommended for like minded campers.

Really nice place to spend with family, dog friendly. there are 🐄 and 🐑 just the other side of the fence, which is quite nice. They could improve on facilities as there is just one portable toilet and I haven't seen any point for washing dishes. Also, if you get an electric pitch you should have a lead length of minimum 20 metres as the socket point are quite far from some fields (i.e. no. 1 and no. 3).

Just been for our 8th visit. Anne and Alastair are amazingly friendly and laid back hosts. It's a well kept but basic campsite. I understand that they are concentrating on motorhomes and caravans now and not tents. They got rid of the portaloo due to reviews. No showers. Just fresh water from one of 4 taps, chemical disposal and recycling. There are 13 pitches all with electrical hookup except for 3. Phone Anne direct to book.
