About Poplars Farm Site
Tucked into the Derbyshire countryside near Ashbourne, Poplars Farm Site offers a peaceful adults-only retreat with a choice of hardstanding touring pitches and three cosy camping pods – including two dog-friendly options named Hazel and Ash. The site stays open year-round and provides all the practical essentials: electric hook-ups, hot showers, drinking water, and WiFi that actually works when you need it.
It's a straightforward, well-kept spot that suits couples and friends looking for a quiet base to explore the Peak District. Reviews are largely positive, though some visitors note that facilities can feel a little basic compared to larger, more polished sites. Still, the welcome is warm, dogs are genuinely accommodated, and the location puts you within easy reach of Dovedale, Matlock, and the market town charm of Ashbourne itself.

We had the absolute best time staying here! Pods super clean and perfect for exploring The Peaks. We loved coming back at the end of the day to watch the beautiful sunset and a fire. Scenery just beautiful.

Fantastic, 3 night stay in our motorhome in this small and friendly site. Originally booked 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we extended by another night. Booking system easy and straight forward. Owners call or message you the day before with your pitch number. EHU available as a pay as you go option at each pitch. Shower and toilets very clean. Washing up area. Grey water, Black water and fresh water facilities all within easy reach. Location not far away from Hulland Ward with a pub and a few shops. 90 minute walk through beautiful countryside to Carsington Reservoir. Very relaxing location with fantastic views across the valley. Thank you very much for a memorable stay. Please be aware that this is an adults only site.

This campsite was a beautiful little hideaway. The lady who owns the campsite is lovely and has 2 beautiful dogs which like to run around amd enjoy there outdoor space. There is a large dog field, and medium sized Pitches. The toilets were very clean and well maintained. The only downside to this campsite was the close proximity to the road. The campsite neighbours a fast road, and the cars could be quite loud. But it couldn't be easily seen from the pitch so doesn't necessarily ruin the landscape, just the peace. Thank you for having us. We would visit again.
