About Gadlas Wild Camping
Deep in the hills above Bala, Gadlas Wild Camping offers something genuinely unusual: properly remote pitching across four meadows on a 40-acre working sheep farm. Facilities stretch to composting loos and not much else—bring your own water, food and lighting—but the payoff is huge: sweeping views toward the Cadair Berwyn mountains and, on clear days, Llyn Tegid glinting in the distance. Pitches are accessed by 4x4 or the owners' quad-and-trailer service, adding a touch of adventure to arrival.
Despite the seclusion, you're only 15 minutes' drive from Eryri's walking trails and Bala's shops and watersports centre, with a pub around 15 minutes' walk away. Campfires are allowed, dogs welcome year-round, and the small scale keeps things peaceful. Google reviews are glowing (4.9 stars), praising the stunning location and genuine wild-camping feel—though be prepared for the lack of running water and uneven terrain.

What visitors say
Stayed for one night while passing through, will definitely be back for a longer stay. Dafydd was very friendly and more than helpful, showed us round and let me hold one of his baby goats. The views were unbelievable, overlooking Anglesey, the ocean and mountain ranges in the distance. Perfect place to watch the sunset. Toilet was clean, as long as you come prepared it’s an amazing place to stay

As a family of four we loved it! We will be back in next few weeks for sure. 2 children age 15 and 7 and they enjoyed it so much.. especially little Socks the cheeky little goat and his friends. We got to have a fire under a clear star lit sky and enjoying the views of the sea on one side mountains on the other in the morning. It was a perfect end to our first camping trip to Wales! Thank you again and see you soon x
