About Watertop Farm
Watertop is a family-run farm campsite perched in the uplands between Ballycastle and Cushendall, where the Causeway Coast starts to give way to the Glens of Antrim. The setting is open moorland with Knocklayd rising behind—big views, grazing sheep, and on blustery days a good reason to tuck in by the hedge. Pitches are deliberately modest in scale: a grass field for tents and trailer tents, plus hard-standing serviced pitches for tourers, all with picnic tables and fire pits allowed for proper evenings under the stars.
The farm has been worked by the same family since the early 1900s and that living, working backdrop is a large part of the appeal, especially for children. There are animals to meet, pony trekking, boating on a small lake, mini golf, play areas and hill-walking trails across the farm's own land. A cottage museum of old agricultural life adds a quirky tangent. Dogs are welcome on leads.
Ballycastle is a short drive for the Rathlin ferry, a crescent beach and the excellent Ursa Minor Bakehouse, while Carrick-a-Rede and the Giant's Causeway are fifteen and thirty minutes west respectively. For campers who want the Causeway Coast by day but somewhere genuinely rural to retreat to at night, this is one of the better compromises on the north Antrim side.

We had a great one night camping trip here. Patsy’s daughter was very lovely and welcoming and gave us loads of great recommendations for sightseeing. The waterfall walk from the campsite was so peaceful, we definitely want to come back when the bluebells are in full bloom next year. Firepits and wood are available to hire which made for a toasty evening thankfully. Toilets were well kept and showers were clean and HOT! The monster slide tunnel is fun even if you’re an adult by the way… Thanks for a great time!

Just back from Watertop Farm and had a brilliant experience. Best caravan site so far and kids loved it. Lots of hard work and effort put in by the owner. The site is very relaxing and well spaced out especially for us with a large caravan. Facilities are grand and plenty of animals to see. Lots of beautiful walking trails and kids park is excellent. Will defo be back again

We stayed 2 nights camping. The site was lovely, it has great views and pitches are very generous. It was great to have access to electricity. The showers and toilets were clean. Nice few options to take walks around the farm. It was a nice quiet place even with plenty people booked in campsite and caravan pitches. Booking & check-in was so easy, owners very helpful. Definitely will be back.

Stayed in the Campsite for 1 night, went on the Waterfall Walk and it really is a really beautiful place. We even encountered a ram and their lamb on a walk on the beaten path as well! When you are on the walk, make sure watch the steps as they are quite uneven. The entrance is very hilly so watch when you are driving in (especially with caravans!). Grass was freshly cut and there were big pitches for the tents. You can go into the Animal Barn to see the cows and lambs and there are Donkeys on the right field on your way in and lots of Rams and Sheep on the left. Overall a really nice place!
