About Premier Inn Barnsley Central M1 J37
Premier Inn Barnsley Central M1 J37 rises nine floors above Gateway Plaza, a purpose-built modern block that houses 110 en-suite rooms across its upper levels. The design is functional rather than characterful, with a lift serving all floors and air conditioning throughout, making it a straightforward base whether staying for one night or several.
Rooms come with the usual practical extras, including drinks facilities and family options for those travelling with children, plus accessible rooms for guests who need them. There's a restaurant and bar on site for breakfast and evening meals, and 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible. Parking is available nearby at Gateway Plaza on Star Lane, though it comes at an extra cost rather than being included.
The location puts guests within easy reach of Barnsley town centre, Oakwell Stadium and Dearne Valley Country Park, and there's plenty to fill spare time nearby, from golf and fishing to horse riding and a good spread of pubs and restaurants. It's a practical choice for visiting the town or breaking a journey off the motorway.
Guests mention this hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms with reliably good beds and delicious breakfast options. They also highlight the extremely friendly, helpful staff and the convenient town center location with nearby parking.
Some reviews mention the food can be unavailable.
