About Cae Du Campsite

Tucked beside the River Glaslyn with dramatic views across to Snowdonia's peaks, Cae Du delivers the essentials beautifully: spacious, well-kept pitches—grass and hardstanding, electric and non-electric—clean facilities with hot showers, and a genuinely peaceful atmosphere once the 9.30pm quiet-time rule kicks in. The friendly team help set the tone, and you're perfectly placed for mountain adventures, with the Watkin Path five minutes away and Llyn Dinas close by for wild swimming.

A gentle riverside stroll brings you into Beddgelert village in under a mile, where proper pubs, cafés and craft shops await, plus the narrow-gauge Welsh Highland Railway if you fancy a scenic chug. Back at camp, campfires and barbecues are allowed—buy logs at reception—and there's a launderette and baby-changing facilities if you need them. It's a classic Snowdonia base that does the simple things right.

Just returned home from our 3rd time staying at Cae Du and we're already planning our 4th... Out of all the campsites we've stayed at, this is our absolute favourite! Well facilitated site! Beautiful location! Friendly and welcoming staff! Perfect for couples and families with or without dogs Literally spent hours sat outside our tent with a brew watching all the birds and rabbits across the site. Very peaceful and tranquil location! And literally a stones throw away from Beddgelet. Can't wait for our next return!!! Well done Cae Du!

Such a lovely campsite. Everyone was so friendly. The pitches were well taken care of, as was the rest of the site. Site map well designed so you feel privacy at any point. Toilets were close to our pitch but did not cause a problem as the other guests were all so respectful and quiet. Perfect to walk along the river into town, or as a base to explore the rest of Eyri. Toilets and showers wouldn’t be described as luxurious but what more do you need when camping! The blocks were cleaned daily, they got a bit grassy as the days went on as they were trimming the grounds.

One of the nicest campsites I have stayed at! Prior to arrival I contacted them several times via email with various questions and always received a friendly and fast response showing excellent customer service. On arrival, we found that the grounds are immaculately kept and the scenery is stunning. The toilet and shower facilities aren't the most modern, but they are clean, regularly inspected and functional. There is a communal room that is full of local information and some books to read, along with maps on the walls for those interested in some local hiking. Check in was nice and simple and we were at our pitch in no time at all. The pitch sizes are great and nicely spaced out. Our pitch was lovely and level, with ample space to sit out and enjoy a BBQ, as well as plenty of room for our two vehicles alongside. Nearby, there is a short walk to Beddgelert (10-15mins) with Caernarfon, Porthmadog and Llanberis all in driving distance. If it is a sunny day, then I would highly recommend catching the Sherpa Bus from Beddgelert to the start of the Watkin Path. If you walk up that for 35-40 minutes you can enjoy the fabulous waterfalls and plunge pools which was a highlight of our stay. My only negative of the trip was the inconsideration of some other campers, but it wouldn't be fair to blame Cae Du for the behaviour of others, so still 5* all round. Tip - Take some citronella candles/spray to keep the midges away. They come out in force in the evening.

We stayed at Cae Du for 2 nights recently. On arrival to the campsite you can immediately tell how well maintained and cared for it is, the whole site is beautiful. The facilities are fantastic and all exceptionally clean. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location really is superb! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending a stay at Cae Du and we will certainly return.
