About Ty Afon - River House
Ty Afon - River House suits travellers who want Snowdonia on their doorstep rather than a base miles from the hills. With just 12 rooms, it works well for walkers, cyclists and anyone keen to explore the surrounding landscape without a long drive each morning, and free on-site parking makes it easy to come and go.
Rooms are en-suite with drinks provided, and many look out over the river or the mountains beyond Beddgelert. Breakfast is included, packed lunches can be arranged for a day out on the trails, and there's a garden for relaxing when you're back. Reception operates around the clock, so late arrivals after a long walk aren't a problem.
The village itself puts fishing, golf, horse riding and watersports within reach, along with pubs, restaurants and cycling and walking routes right on the doorstep. It's a straightforward, comfortable stopping point for exploring Gwynedd rather than a destination in itself, with the essentials well covered.
