About Holiday Inn Express Bedford
Set right at the Elstow Interchange where the A6 meets the A421 on the edge of Bedford, Holiday Inn Express Bedford is built for travellers passing through Bedfordshire rather than for lingering in a town centre. The countryside road links around it make this a practical stop whether you're breaking a longer drive or visiting somewhere nearby for work.
The 80 rooms are straightforward and comfortable, with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi throughout, plus family and accessible rooms available. A restaurant and bar sit on site alongside a proper breakfast spread with plenty of choice, and kids' meals, drinks in the room and laundry service cover the practical side of a stay. The dining room itself can feel a little under-attended at busier times, though the food and staff generally get good marks.
Free on-site parking makes arriving by car simple, and the hotel is spread across three floors with a lift for easy access. A golf course, pubs, bars and restaurants are all within reach nearby, giving guests somewhere to head once they've settled in, and pets are welcome for those travelling with animals in tow.
What guests say
Very impressed with this budget hotel. The room was spotless and had air conditioning (on a very hot day). The food was good, and pretty reasonably priced for a hotel. The staff we met (Bright and Olly) were attentive, polite and very pleasant to deal with. We'll be back!

Booked for one night as we were attending a function nearby. We found the room spotless, the bed comfortable and no noise from the road. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Included breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. For the price paid, especially as it was Easter weekend, it was very good value. Would certainly recommend and if we have cause to need accommodation in the area again we would certainly return.

This is the second time we have stayed at this Holiday Inn & both times we have had a very peaceful night's sleep & experienced very good friendly service from all the hotel staff. We would particularly like to big up Vaisakh, (hope I spelt your name right) on the front desk, when we checked in. He was incredibly kind & helpful, getting us checked in quickly & smoothly when he heard we were staying due to my Mother in Law's funeral. He helped to make a very difficult time more bearable with kindness & thoughtful service.

BEWARE BEDBUGS IN THE CHILDRENS BEDS. A short stay over with some big problems, im disabled my partner has cancer and is on chemotherapy, my son has special needs, A short 2 night stay turned into a being transfered twice so we ended up in 3 rooms for 2 nights. BED BUG off all sizes big and small, first time we realised this my son said he was being bitten and things were crawling on him this was at midnight so we were all up putting the lights on and their were bed bugs in the beds especially the spare child's bed, I phoned reception and I only said 'we have bugs in the room' and he moved us at midnight into another room ( they knew about the bugs he asked no questions ) we had to pack everything up carry without help to another room. We had no sleep as felt itch all night and they bought no bedding for my son so he had to sleep under a towel that night, the next morning before we had even had any breakfast we were told we needed to move to another room so off we went to pack up again and move to the 3rd room. This started our day off badly after no sleep and using all or energy moving room we were deflated. sunday we got up and went uome didnt even do out day out as planned, I was offered a partial refund of not even half, after being home for a wk had to rung them 3 times to sort this, A parking ticket arrived for their free carpark so a £100 parking ticket because they said it didn't put my email in a screen on their desk ? He asked me to add my numberplate which i did. When asked if they could sort this the answer was 'NO YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY IT' they wanted us to keep quiet about the bed bugs while we was their once we had left they didn't care. We were polite and respected this, but on reflection they really don't care that they knowingly put us in a room which they knew had bed bugs. Date of stay: July 2026
