About Premier Inn Bedford South A421
Premier Inn Bedford South A421 suits anyone breaking up a motorway journey or working nearby, offering an easy, no-fuss stay just off the M1 on Wilkinson Road. It works equally well for an overnight business trip or a simple leisure stopover, with free on-site parking at the front and side of the hotel making arrivals and departures straightforward.
The hotel has 60 rooms across three floors, with a lift for easy access and rooms designed for accessibility where needed. Standard rooms are comfortable, quiet and clean, while Premier Plus rooms add extra touches such as rainfall showers and in-room coffee machines. Air conditioning, drinks in the room and 24-hour reception add to the convenience, and staff are consistently described as friendly, helpful and professional. There's an on-site restaurant serving breakfast and evening meals, though some guests have found the food a little underwhelming, so those wanting a proper meal out might prefer the pubs and restaurants nearby.
Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers a golf course and fishing spots for those with time to spare, plus nearby pubs and eateries for evening options. An electric vehicle charge point is also available on site. It's a practical base for getting things done and moving on, rather than a destination in itself.
What guests say
I have stayed a total of 5 night during April for a work trip. Firstly, the location was accessible from major roads/motorway. There was a car park that was just about large enough. The hotel is fairly secure. I stayed in room 201 on each stay. The room is very spacious. With a small shelf and mirror and stool to get ready, an area to hang clothes with a large drawer, futon, desk area, chair and stool, large bed and the bath room with an overhead shower. The room was clean but definitely tired and is need of repairs and maintenance, especially the bathroom. The fridge in the room also didn't work but I didn't realise this until my last night and there was no one at reception to inform in the morning. The hairdryer worked well enough, there were plugs with USB ports. I didn't use the coffee pods but that felt like a nice touch. I got chocolates on one stay but not the other. There are two pubs, one directly across which is where the Premier Inn has a "meal deal" option, this is handy for those travelling on business and looking to reduce costs on meal expenditure. The hotel served its purpose, it was clean enough and the bed was comfortable but there are clear issues that need to be addressed.

Checked in to Hotel at 23.40hrs kate due to far travel! The company had messed up my details! And their system was down at the hotel! But Adrian the night manager was their to listen to my side of the story! He then got to work sorted everything and went the extra mile to ensure the room was ready for me! 5 stars! Its people like this that go the extra mile for the customers! Thank you! Great place, Quiet n nice rooms!

A group of 8 of us meet up and stayed at this Premier inn, the staff at the hotel were very friendly, the room was comfortable and very quiet so had the best night's sleep I have had for a long time. The bathrooms could due with refurbishment. we met up across at the pub for drinks and evening meal that was very enjoyable could not fault the meals we all had, or the price of the drinks we had throughout the evening, following morning we went across to the pub to have breakfast and there was everything available and plenty of it, I'm not a a big eater as rule but i started with cereal then toast then cooked breakfast finished with a croissant. Plenty to choose from and cooked very well. Our only disappointment was the pub closed at 10pm we all felt this was to early 11pm would be more exceptable. When we were told it was closing as a staff member walked by us saying we closed in ten minutes' no sorry but we are closing soon, we had literally just ten minutes earlier got a round in. Apart from that a good evening.
