About The Lansdowne Hotel
A pizza kiosk tucked into the bar-restaurant is one of the more unexpected features at The Lansdowne Hotel, a straightforward base on Antrim Road in Belfast, close to the city centre and transport links. The bar-restaurant itself has varied seating options and a lively feel, and it draws a steady crowd for its food, with Sunday lunches a particular highlight alongside the wider menu.
Rooms are en-suite and kept clean and comfortable, with room service and drinks available if you'd rather stay in. Breakfast is served on site, and other facilities include free WiFi, a lift, a garden and outdoor seating, luggage storage, and free on-site parking. The hotel also has meeting rooms, a bridal suite and wedding facilities for those planning an event, and kids' meals are available for families. Staff are generally attentive and the atmosphere welcoming, though service has been known to be a little inconsistent at busier times.
Antrim Road puts guests within reach of Belfast's city centre, with a golf course, pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for those wanting to explore beyond the hotel itself.
What guests say
The hotel is a 3 star of a hotel, and has always been. The bar-restaurant however is quite remarkable. 4 seating areas of different character, plus one overflow seating area at the back. Mahogany, green leather, soft lighting. Much more plushy than the brutalist exterior of the building suggests. Large beer garden outside, with unusual seating and heating options, and even a pizza kiosk on site! Live music on weekends, pub quizzes or tv sports on weekdays. Food menu makes total sense in both its contents and pricing. Quite a decent cheese board in the dessert section - enough for two as a snack to go with beer or coffee, and filling enough for one as a main course. Very caring staff who seem to be enjoying their job - and I enjoy to see some familiar faces every time I visit. Many couples choose Lansdowne for their wedding party, and I do see why. A word of warning: the place is quite popular with visitors, so the reasonably sized parking on site is often full. If that happens, take time to look into the side streets nearby - you would always find a parking spot within a quarter of a mile from the hotel's gates.

Just reviewing the food. Sunday lunch today. Food was lovely. Only complaint i ordered peppered chicken/champ.it was nice but for 18 quid you would need another portion. Wouldn't order again. It was such a small portion. Daughters got proper Sunday lunches. They all loved them.i wish I'd have ordered them so avoid peppered chicken. Had to order chips to fill me up.deserts were nice. Tea ordered. No milk. Service was a big let down. Although I'd go back but order Sunday lunch menu. Decent.

Work trip. Nice location, lovely bar with decent food and wide array of draught beers and entertainment most evenings! But the room was very dirty. The hard wood floor was filthy with dust and hair gathered in the corners. Pillow case had 2 stains on. TV had a lot of dust on. Hard to believe it would have been cleaned daily. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. You have to order from reception. Free water and crisps though. But the room was very noisy ( they provide earplugs so they must know!) No batteries in TV remote either. DON'T STAY IN ROOM 212! The window isn't sealed properly so when the wind picked up in the night, I got awoken by what I thought was a ghost or a homo sexual despite wearing earplugs. I didn't inform the hotel as didn't want to move at 3am and was only staying one night. Lovely staff though.

Very disappointing experience. We had tried to book a table for around 20 and were told they could only give us a table for 12 and said that not everyone would be seated and that some members of our group would have to stand around the bar. While this wasn’t ideal, we accepted it and arrived as planned. However, when we arrived, several members of our party were refused entry on the grounds that they were allegedly too drunk. This was simply not true. The decision was approved by the manageress who came to assess the situation and all members were allowed in as they should have been from the onset as no one in the party was intoxicated. To make matters worse, staff later approached us 10 minutes later and claimed that christening parties were not permitted. We had never stated that this was a christening party and had made it clear from the outset that it was simply a family gathering. Despite this, we were asked to leave the premises. The whole situation was handled poorly and left our family embarrassed and upset. We had organised the booking in advance, followed the venue’s requirements, and expected to be treated with a basic level of respect. Instead, we were met with inconsistent explanations, poor communication, and ultimately removed from the bar for reasons that made no sense. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this venue for family gatherings or at all for that matter.
