Etherow is a delightful place for an immersive nature walk. Its fairly flat and there are easy to follow footpaths that take you around the lake, along the river and into the trees. There is a great cafe run by Pure where you can get a drink and various snacks. The public toilets are clean and free to use. Parking is Pay & Display, at reasonable rates but spaces are limited and they fill up very quickly at busy times.

I love this place, it's great to take the children to see the ducks, swans, geese. You can fish, watch all the wildlife, sail, see the waterfall, go to the fairy house in the woods, walk round the butterfly garden, you can go for a hike or just go for a leisurely walk finishing up with a bite to eat and a drink in the cafe and buy a souvenir in the shop.

As far as Country Parks go, this is one of the best all rounders. Woods full of wildlife, lakes, rivers and streams with a variety of water fowl and many walks to choose from ranging from flat to moderate hills.
