What visitors say
Great visit to Boscobel House and The Royal Oak the famed hideout of Charles the 2nd before fleeing to France all of which is recorded in the houses owners diary that is on display in the house. Caretakered by English Heritage so you can be assured of a great visit. Super knowledgeable Staff and volunteers that bring the story to life. On site there is ample parking, Free if your a English Hertige Member as is the entry to the House. Also there is a nice gift shop, Cafe and toilets. Note Monday and Tuesday it's closed but open from 10am for the rest of the week. On the day price is around the £13 each mark but cheaper if you book online in advance. Wonder through the grounds and the 17th century Garden and there's an access gate that leads you down to the famous Oak. In side the house you will find loads of rooms which are furnished. From the windows there's beautiful views over the countryside and a great view of the gardens. Around a mile walk there is an open site to visit The White Ladies Priory so a lovely walk if you have the energy to visit there alternatively take a left turn as you exit the house car park and you will come to the priory entrance on the right hand side where the wood starts. 3 or 4 minute drive away. All in all a wonderful visit to the very well kepted House and gardens would definitely recommend.

Buy your tickets online, as it's cheaper, if you are not a member. Lovely house to visit and the grounds are beautiful. We loved the willow walk. Have a delicious hot chocolate in the cow byre and they serve hot food till 2.30pm. scones, toasties and cake. It's not a big place but an hour and a half is easily filled. There are some very steep stairs in the house so not great if you have a mobility issue. We loved the interactive candles.
