Gardener’s Cottage

South Staffordshire

View on Google Maps

This former gardener's residence sits within the grounds of Chillington Hall, a 4000-acre estate straddling the Staffordshire and Shropshire border. The cottage has been converted into a self-contained home for four guests, with three bedrooms spread across two floors. The main bedroom has a super king bed and ensuite shower room; a second bedroom holds two single beds; the third is a day bed accessed through the second bedroom. Downstairs, the living and dining rooms both have woodburners, and there's a full kitchen with electric oven, hob and dishwasher. The main bathroom has a bath with shower. One pet is welcome.

The estate's public footpaths and bridleways are yours to explore, with maps provided. On certain dates the hall and its Capability Brown park open to visitors. Outside the cottage, an enclosed garden with patio and parking for three cars provide privacy. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered; initial logs for the woodburners are included. The nearest shop, pub and restaurant are two miles away. Codsall railway station is two and a half miles off, connecting to Birmingham in half an hour. The RAF Museum at Cosford, Ironbridge Gorge, Ludlow and Shrewsbury all sit within easy reach, and Amerton Arts Studio is nearby.
