Ream Hills Holiday Park

We used to really enjoy Ream Hills Holiday Park and visited regularly for weekends, which is why we chose to take a seasonal pitch. Sadly, our experience as seasonal guests has been extremely disappointing and stressful. We first sited our caravan there for the second half of the 2025 season. We had issues with the electric tripping and were told the problem must be with our caravan, when it later became clear this was not the case. Our pitch was also on a slope, which made using the awning difficult. For the 2026/27 season, we requested a move to a flatter pitch with more grass for our dog and baby. This was agreed, but the pitch turned out to be unsuitable. The water tap was positioned so that it ended up inside our awning, yet we were told it could not be moved. Instead, we were told to move the awning so the tap was outside and visible. The communication from management was, in my opinion, rude, dismissive and heavy-handed. We were repeatedly emailed about pitch rules, furniture, parking, fencing, the water tap, and boundaries. We were told to consider alternative arrangements if the site rules did not suit us, and later offered a pro-rata refund if we vacated the pitch. This made us feel pushed out rather than supported. What made it worse was that I had explained I was grieving the sudden loss of my father-in-law while also caring for a newborn baby, and that moving the caravan and awning was not something I could easily manage without help. Rather than showing understanding, the response felt cold and dismissive. We also felt unfairly singled out. We took photos of other seasonal pitches which appeared to have furniture, planters, awnings, items outside, grassed areas being used, and layouts that did not seem to follow the same strict rules we were being held to. We were repeatedly told to move things, keep items hidden away, and stay within very tight boundaries, while other pitches appeared to be allowed far more flexibility. We were also accused of calling an out-of-hours emergency number, which I had not done and did not even have the number for. The pitch allocation also made no sense. We deliberately chose not to use the parking space for our car so that we could position the caravan and awning in a way that gave us usable grass for our dog and baby, especially as we had asked about fencing. However, when the manager marked out our pitch, we were told our allocated area ended just after the pitch 28 sign, leaving virtually no room for a fence or usable grass. This was despite the site’s own guidance showing a car, caravan and awning layout — which, if followed, would apparently have put us outside the allocated pitch area anyway. It felt completely impractical and contradictory. In the end, the situation became so upsetting that we vacated the pitch. We left it on time, clean, and with no rubbish left behind as promised. The park itself is quiet and in a convenient location, which is why this is such a shame. However, based on our experience, the management approach towards seasonal guests was poor, inconsistent and unnecessarily stressful. I would not recommend taking a seasonal pitch here.

Bank holiday weekend get away with the family,weather wasn't on our side unfortunately but that didn't stop us enjoying the weekend. Very friendly and helpful staff,the touring park is very well kept, family friendly and quiet just what we wanted. Facilities were spotless at all times. we will be going again soon.

The campsite itself is lovely, however reception closes at 5pm. We were stuck on the M6 and the person we spoke to was clearly unhappy that we were going to be late, and said we may have to sleep in the carpark. As it happened, we were only 15 mins late and they stayed open, however another couple who had travelled from Norfolk didn't arrive until 8pm. They had to stay in the carpark without access to toilets (they needed a code) all night, despite having paid in advance. This is the only campsite I've stayed at that doesn't have any procedure for late arrivals. Not everyone has a toilet or travels with water on board. Shocking!

I stayed here around 10 times between February 2024 and August 2025, usually visiting alone with my two autistic children, who especially loved the hot tub. During my visits I generally felt safe and comfortable, which was important to me as a parent travelling alone. Staff interactions were mixed, sometimes very friendly and sometimes less so, but I did not let that affect my stays. On my final visit, the hot tub would not start. Staff came to look at it and tried to fix it by removing the dashboard, but unfortunately it could not be resolved and I ended up leaving early on the Sunday because the hot tub was unusable. I initially received an apology by email, but then unexpectedly I was told that my children had broken the dashboard, which did not make sense given that staff had been working on it. During this exchange I was also told that I leave the accommodation messy, which I found upsetting and surprising as I always make an effort to leave it clean, with the dishwasher on, bins emptied, and everything tidy before departure. The WiFi never worked during any of my stays, and despite comments about cleanliness, we often had black feet from walking on the floors. Overall, I did enjoy staying here, but considering the price, similar quality accommodation can be found elsewhere for much less.
