About Royal Seabank Hotel

Rooms at the Royal Seabank Hotel are compact but come with everything a short break needs: en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in the room, and family rooms for those travelling with children. Some rooms look out over the sea, and a lift makes getting up and down straightforward for guests who'd rather skip the stairs. It's fair to say space is tight in places, but the trade-off is a central spot on Blackpool's promenade.

Downstairs there's a restaurant serving breakfast and meals such as steak pie, plus a snack bar, packed lunches for days out, and a bar known for its £1 drinks offer. A games room and outdoor seating area add to the facilities, and staff are on hand to help with luggage storage, laundry and general concierge queries. Evening entertainment is also laid on for guests who want to stay in rather than head out.

The hotel sits on Central Promenade, close to Blackpool Tower and Pleasure Beach, with walking and cycling routes nearby and watersports, fishing and golf all within reach. Pubs and restaurants dot the surrounding streets for anyone wanting to explore beyond the hotel's own kitchen.

My 12th visit to the Royal Seabank, 2nd visit since new management. Changes are in hand for sure. Positively - My room mate lost his mobile phone in lobby area. It was handed in and returned within 10 mins, excellent service indeed!! Food very good and staff very helpful. Excellent sea view room well worth £5 extra pp. Add a portable wee shelf attachment to the shower rod for toiletries would be a great help. In hand - Trial move to have entertainment in dinning area has nearly finished. It doesn’t work due to poor viewing seats behind pillars and dining being rushed by 7pm. They are returning entertainment upstairs by end July 26 I believe. Request - The £2 a drink offer with the flagship deal is very fair. I hope 0% Guinness is included officially next time on health grounds. General - I don’t have a major issue with steps, but it is not a step free hotel, check before you book if you are fully disabled re buggies etc. Entertainment was better previously with Paul Mac and Caine Ward Wednesday/Saturday. Go with the flow, enjoy a break, and the Seabank staff are there to help.

The Royal Seabank was very good, but on our last visit when we went for our evening meal, the maitre d told us if you don't come early we can't garantee a table for 2. We had to sit at a shared table. My husband went to have a look and there was plenty of space in the restaurant on the other days. So we were being pushed to have our meals so staff could go home early. We had visited many times before and never been treated like that. As well as that, we struggled to get a drink because the bar was open to the public as well as undesirable clientelle so residents had nowhere to sit and couldn't get served. There was also a scottish "comedian" on, making dereogatory remarks to curvey lady. There was also too much fuss made of Scottish clientelle making other clientelle feel less welcome and worthy of their custom. By our final visit (about 7th) the quality of the food had dropped measurably. This showed to be the time for us to move on elsewhere. We can now see why Blackpool promotions now only has The Royal Seabank left.

No complaints about the hotel, service or food. Bit was all good and great value for money. What I did not enjoy was the coach load of very loud, intoxicated people (permanently drunk) who arrived from Glasgow! No consideration for other residents, shouting in hallway 3am, banging doors! Once they left, our stay was very pleasant and very reasonably priced. Staff lovely!

On arrival at 3pm our room was not ready, given the number of people that were still waiting to access their rooms we stood for approximately 1 hour prior to getting booked in. Allocated room 304 on third floor, originally given incorrect information on how to get to this room we were then told the room was accessible only by stairs as no access due to your lift being out of order.  We carried our bags up the stairs and located our room. We returned down to reception to report damage to the wall within the shower and leak from base of toilet, I asked for us to be moved due to accessibility for my husband who suffers from issues with his knees and the stairs would be an issue. Room was swapped to room 25 although still on the 3rd floor was accessible via the Red lift.  Off I went up the stairs to collect our bags from room 304 and moved them to room 25. We left the hotel to go visit family.  On returning to the hotel we attempted to access room 25 however the key did not work, I returned to reception to be joined by my husband and son shortly after to say someone else was in our room and they had brought our luggage to reception. Reception could eventually offer an upgrade to a Seaview room however still on the 3rd floor (grey side) so no lift available. Next option again on the grey side was to split our party and my husband could have a room on the 2nd floor by himself and me and our son on the 3rd floor, this in my opinion was not an option I would consider.  Last option was to process a full refund and we then required to get alternative accommodation at approx 10pm at night on Easter Monday. A full refund was processed however would take approx 3-4 days for the money to return to my bank.  With the assistance from my nephew he managed to get us alternative accommodation. The treatment, standard of service from your hotel has been completely unacceptable.
