A music-themed B&B in Blackpool for travellers who want personality with their stay, offering eight eclectic rooms and free parking near the Tower.
About The Mercury
The Mercury suits visitors after something with a bit more character than a standard seaside stay, particularly those drawn to music and retro style. This small B&B on Barton Avenue has just eight rooms, each decorated with its own eclectic theme, making it a good fit for couples or friends looking for a memorable base rather than a purely functional one.
Guests get free WiFi throughout, a restaurant with sea views, and a bar fitted out with a retro jukebox for evenings in. Breakfast is included, and there's a snack bar, garden and lounge spaces, plus practical extras such as luggage storage, laundry service and air conditioning. Those travelling by car benefit from free on-site parking, while the property also offers a gym, spa and sauna, and can accommodate meetings or weddings for those planning something larger.
The location puts guests close to Blackpool Tower, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment all within easy reach, making it a practical choice for exploring the town on foot. It's a compact, personality-led B&B rather than a big resort hotel, and works best for travellers who value character and convenience over scale.

I stayed at The Mercury hotel whilst in Blackpool visiting family. Great location just off the main promenade. Gary (I didn't meet Jo) was lovely, friendly and very accommodating. I stayed in the 60's themed room which was lovely, a double bed with a built in TV, a separate sitting area with a couch and a record player with vinyl records! Everything was spotless and had little touches like a cosy dressing gown and slippers in the wardrobe. Breakfast was lovely, the best poached eggs I've had for a good while. I'd definitely stay there again 😊

Stayed at the Mercury Hotel for a long weekend and we loved our stay. The Hosts Gary and Jo were very friendly and offered plenty of suggestions for things to do and see whilst we were visiting Blackpool. The rooms were spotless, beds and pillows comfy and WiFi worked well. We even had our very own record player with a mix of Albums to suit all tastes. We were both spoiled for choice with the Complimentary breakfast and had a mixture of hot and cold both mornings. Overall a great weekend and we will be definitely returning to the Mercury Hotel. 👍

Gary and Jo are one of a kind hosts.we came to blackpool for New York for rebellion fest and were created by Gary at the door and immediately felt welcomed.we got up to our room and it was super clean, the decor was all British rock and punk memorabilia. Gary’s breakfast was better than anything we had around town and when it was time to leave he insisted on taking us to the train station..if and when we go back we will without a doubt be staying there again!
