About Snowdonia Alpacas

Tucked into a working farm at the heart of Snowdonia National Park, this adults-only retreat offers a single shepherd's hut perched in a field with mountains, lakes and open countryside rolling away on all sides. The hut itself is simply but thoughtfully kitted out – double bed, basic cooking kit, log burner for evenings, and crucially no TV or Wi-Fi, though 4G holds up well enough. A shower's available at the main house annex, and there's a charcoal BBQ by the hut for proper off-grid dinners.

The real draw is the setting and the chance to wander among the resident alpacas, sheep, goats, cattle and pigs between walks. Climbing, cycling, canoeing and fishing are all close by, and the coast is a short drive when you need a change of scene. Facilities are basic – composting toilet, uneven terrain – but for anyone after peace, big views and a digital detox, it's hard to beat.

Loved our time here, my wife and I got to walk with two lovely alpacas, Sherpee and Chloe, we got to meet lots of other alpacas too, as well as goats, ducks, pigs, cows, sheep, even rhea. We learnt so much about the animals and sustainable farming from Gayle, the owner, she's just brilliant, so friendly and enthusiastic about farming and she clearly adores her animals. 10/10, highly recommended. Our only regrets we didn't take enough pics and we didn't buy more honey, it's delicious.

We had a really great time on the farm! As well as getting to meet and walk the alpacas, you're also given a tour around the whole farm and get to meet and feed lots of the other animals. It was also really nice to see how they are being as eco friendly as possible and cleverly using the animals on the farm to help restore the land and local environment. Loved it. 10/10. Super friendly animals. Super friendly and knowledgeable owner. And great hand made souvenirs at the end!

Truly amazing experience, the lady who runs these alpaca walks has a real passion for what she's doing and it shows with how well all the animals are looked after and treated. The experience is around two hours which starts with a talk about the alpacas while feeding and getting to know them. Once walking we were able to have regular stops at different animals around the farm with opportunity to feed them too. My girlfriend especially loved feeding the cows and this whole experience really made her holiday. For £25 each I would say this is excellent value for money and could probably charge a little more for the amazing experience. I love North Wales and will definitely book this again when we return next time. Also I can't review the camping pods as didn't stay here, but we walked past them and they looked lovely and peaceful, nicely spaced apart and would probably book one if looking for a pod in this area. Nice views over the fields and animals. Overall an amazing day out and if your reading this you should definitely book the alpaca walk, you won't be disappointed.

We had a great time despite the rain. Gayle was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. We have done several experiences like this in the past but this was the most hands on. We loved how friendly and calm all the animals were and it was great to see how well taken care of they all are. Bonus even though he is too small to pet yet… Eric the baby alpaca. Cutest ball of fluff you will ever see. 10/10 would recommend this place
