Beavers and Bamff… just brilliant. Bag a break at this wildlife-laden Perthshire farm for a genuinely unusual glamping experience among planted and regenerated woodland that's home to the UK's first beaver reintroduction project. Since 2002, two beaver families have been building their couple of dozen dams here, becoming the subject of boffin studies and several films – settle down by the ponds to watch these industrious little critters at work.

The Bamff estate has been owned by the Ramsay family since the 13th century, and sits just under a mile from the Scottish Woodland Skills Centre, where you can try your hand at bushcraft, willow weaving and green woodworking (though you'll never match the beavers' craftsmanship). All off-grid glamping units come with woodburning stoves, logs and kindling, while showers and loos are a short stroll away. There's an honesty shop stocking healthy meals and snacks – though some guests note facilities can feel a touch basic for the price. A mile from Alyth, 25 minutes north of Blairgowrie.

Just stayed for a long weekend and could have cried when leaving. The most beautiful and wildlife rich place I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit. Cabin was beautiful and every detail taken care of. We had our own power banks for phone charging but the lighting and shower was brilliant (probably better than mine at home) Have had some amazing trips all over the world but would move there forever in a heartbeat. ❤️

Really awesome place to see lots of wildlife. We saw deer, red squirrels, wild pigs, cows and ponies as well as loads of birds, including a peacock! And of course, If you want to spot some beavers, this is definitely the place for you! We stayed two nights and both nights we were very fortunate to see them swimming and even chewing wood on the banks of the river! We stayed in the Birder's Bothy which was very relaxing and cosy. Louise and Paul were lovely hosts. Thank you for a great stay!

Beautiful property with lovely period features and set in a rural estate. However we were disappointed by the lack of cleanliness, poor quality furniture and just general lack of effort in presenting as an inviting holiday home. The basics were clean enough but I spent the first hour on arriving cleaning cobwebs and wiping surfaces as it was really grubby and needs a deep clean. It doesn't need huge investment just a bit of care, which is a shame as it has so much potential to be an absolutely top notch place. But if you don't mind more of a bothy/student pad feel, this would be a good place to stay.

Walking the Cateran Trail and went through Bamff. Spoke to them owners who were really friendly and they had a great honesty shop there for teas/coffees/food. The work they are doing there is fantastic. We also saw a Beaver there which was a bonus.
