Foxhangers Canal Holidays sits directly beside the Kennet and Avon Canal near Devizes, combining a working narrowboat hire business with around twenty camping pitches across two gently sloping paddocks. The family-run site has been operating since 1997, and its genuine canal-yard atmosphere – with boats coming and going from the moorings – gives it more character than many purely residential sites, though some visitors note the facilities can feel a little tired in places.
Every pitch includes electricity and water in the price, unusual for a site of this size, and there's space for tents, campervans and touring caravans. The towpath is a five-minute walk away, making car-free cycling or walking toward Bradford-on-Avon, Bath or Devizes straightforward, while the famous Caen Hill lock flight is close by.
Dogs are welcome, and the site works particularly well if you want to combine camping with a day's narrowboat hire or simply enjoy watching canal life unfold over an evening drink.

Well 3rd time on the canals with foxhangers each time has seen excellent service from the team, boats are well presented and serviced, with good advice and information updates on your planned trip, 1st time out was just the wife and I, hard work, but on th back of that other people wanted to experience it hence the next 2 trips each time we took the easier route to bath as it is a nice introduction and with Bradford on Avon and bath to visit

We were on ' Foxhound '. Ideal for us - 4 adults, 2 boys and 2 small dogs. Very clean, everything we needed. The boys loved doing the locks and swing bridges. Would definitely go again and highly recommend Foxhangers 👌

We've just returned home after a fabulous 60 th birthday (husbands) weekend on the Tibetan Fox. From the outset the reception staff were so helpful and kind when we explained that our dog was very poorly and helped me put in contingency plans should we need to get to a vet. Fortunately we didn't and he enjoyed his trip and we will cherish the memories. The crew were great at explaining how everything works and the boat was very clean and well equipped. We boated to just outside Bradford on Avon. Just beautiful. A fantastic weekend thanks to all the staff at Foxhangers.

We've done several canal boat holidays in the UK and Europe and this was without doubt one of the better ones. The canal itself was beautiful and very interesting, and the service from Foxhangers was friendly, seamless and efficient. The boat was excellent too, and very comfortable.
