The Shippon
Bradford
The Shippon is a restored 19th-century cottage on a rough track in open moorland, with a private water supply and a single bedroom sleeping two. The ground floor is open-plan, combining living space, dining and kitchen in one area, with a shower room off it. Upstairs, accessed via steep narrow stairs, is a double bedroom. Underfloor heating warms the ground floor; biofuel central heating covers the rest of the property. Bed linen and towels are supplied.
The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave and washing machine, so you can cook and manage laundry in situ. There is a garden with sitting-out area and BBQ, plus private parking for one car. One pet stays free. Note that the grounds contain an uncovered pond, and the property is reached via a rough track rather than a made road.
This location suits people drawn to moorland walking; a bridleway runs past the door, and the nearby market town of Skipton is 20 minutes' drive away. Silsden and Addingham, both three miles off, have pubs, restaurants and shops. Bolton Abbey, Malham Cove and Grassington are all within half an hour's drive.
