About Camping Westmoor Farm

Tucked between farmland, woodland and a tranquil pool roughly a mile outside Bampton, Camping Westmoor Farm offers a peaceful slice of west Oxfordshire countryside close to the Cotswolds fringe. The site's modern bell tents come fully furnished with attractive interiors and views over water, while campers pitching their own tents can choose from small, medium or large non-electric grass pitches suitable for tents and campervans alike.

Eco-friendly composting toilets and showers keep things sustainable, and there's a camping kit with cooking equipment available (though you'll need to bring bedding). Kids have a play area and go-karts to keep them entertained. Some visitors note the lack of a drinkable water point on site, so it's worth coming prepared.

The village of Bampton has a pub, coffee shop and small supermarket, while the River Thames flows about a mile south. Cross at Tadpole Bridge for its popular pub, then explore Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve to the west or the charming old village of Radcot eastward along the riverbank.

Very quiet, chill campsite with firepits available. Bring cash if you want to buy logs, kindling etc. I think that it's a bit too expensive for the facilities offered - there was a DofE group there when we were there and only 2 women's toilets for the whole camp, which wasn't enough. The sawdust for the compost toilets ran out quickly. I paid £30 for a night and would have been happier to pay more like £18-£20.

It's a nice site with good facilities. Friendly welcome. Shame about a large, noisy group keeping the young families awake until gone midnight, and then up again before 6am. Staff had a word for the following night, but there's always scope for the on-site staff to keep an eye on this sort of thing - and address it at the time.

We were a group of 20 adults and kids. We took over the bell tent area which was perfect for what we needed. Great fire pit. The kids loved the freedom to be able to roam around in the adjacent fields and forest safely without bothering other guests. Facilities were good for us - warm showers, eco loos, electricity and gas bbq. Enough covered areas to dodge the inevitable showers. Would recommend.

Dated facilities, the composite toilet were not cleaned and not pleasant at all, it was pilling up not something I would like to see. A spade for the sore dust would be nice. Also the showers was just a box and according to one of the other guests, you have to put your clothes in a plastic bag, so they won't get wet. I didn't use it at all after viewings them. We also spent all night awake by lots of dogs barking and howling all night, maybe the guard dogs, near the site or kennels. We ended up leaving in the morning as we could stay there. I have sent an email asking for a refund, as I paid £80 for two nights. Not cheap if I may say for the facilities onsite and the luck of a peaceful night sleep.
