About Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre and Campsite

Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre sits in woodland just outside Bransgore, with pitches scattered between forest glades and grassy lakeside spots. It's a genuinely active site — bike trails lace the grounds, there's a rock wall for climbers, and canoeing sessions run regularly on the lake, catering to families, Duke of Edinburgh groups, and everyone in between. Visitors consistently praise the spotless facilities and helpful staff who guide activities with real enthusiasm.

Pitch options range from forest-floor tent plots under the trees to electric hardstanding for tourers, some with lake views, others tucked into the woodland. Dogs are welcome on certain pitches year-round, campfires and barbecues are allowed, and there's free wifi throughout. It's a solid, well-maintained base for exploring Christchurch and the New Forest, though with so much happening on site — cycle hire, fishing, watersports — you might find less reason to roam than you'd planned.

My family and I wanted to go on vacation for the weekend for the first time with an overnight stay in a tent and chose this place. Our impressions are simply inexpoitable in words, you have to see it. Very beautiful landscapes and there are a lot of interesting activities for both adults and children. It is very clean around. The employees are very friendly and happy to help in everything. Thank you very much to the person who cleans the bathrooms, they are very clean, even with so many people. If you want to relax with your family, love nature, you want to have a cool time, come here.

The whole weekend I spent here was incredible as we were surrounded by activities to do and bike trails to ride. The whole experience was amazing as I had brought my own bike and done both the red trail and blue trail. I strongly recommend a mountain bike for the red trail as the roots are very slippy and could cause you to slide out of control but on the other hand, the blue trail is perfect for all types of bikes. I would strongly recommend the blue trail to families with younger children as there are no large roots or drops. We did the leap of faith activity where you would climb a large pole roughly 10 metres tall and then jump onto a trapeze bar and then let go at safely float down in your harness. Then we did the catwalk which was a similar objective but instead of jumping onto a trapeze bar, you would walk across a wooden pole and balance your way to the other side. We also did the rock wall which was roughly the same height but a bit taller, I still have blisters from spending ages throwing myself up the rock wall. The gravity track is pretty self explanatory, you pedal at first and then you roll down it and jump over the jumps or you just roll over them, it’s your choice. When you get used to the track, you can start pedalling and trying to jump the jumps, the best jump is the last one which you can see in my attached photo There was a lake where you could go fishing or book a canoeing session and to the left of the end of the red trail there is a massive tyre swing that goes of the edge of a ditch so you can go really high on it, there are many little hidden parks to discover. My only concern is that I know people don’t like mixed gender toilets which these are. Overall this is one of the best campsites I have been to so far

Absolutely amazing place to visit with kids! They love all the activities and space. And not noisy at all so great for good sleep ( apart from planes).

Great location, kids had an amazing time would definitely visit again. Only downside was unisex toilets and showers not very clean, we had our own in the caravan so wasn’t so much of a problem but would not have enjoyed my stay if I had to use the public showers and toilets.
