About Sopley Lake Camping
Just outside the New Forest National Park, Sopley Lake Camping occupies a working pick-your-own farm near Bransgore, where families can gather strawberries, cut armfuls of flowers, and pitch among fields of seasonal colour. Despite its pop-up status the site runs a proper on-site bakery serving takeaway pastries and coffee, plus a farm shop stocked with local produce, while a communal firepit and barbecue area give campers somewhere to congregate after dark. Children gravitate toward the play area beside the bakery, and several good pubs lie within a ten-minute drive for those evenings when cooking feels like too much effort.
The New Forest's cycling and walking networks start five minutes away by car, making this an easy base for exploring ancient woodland without committing to a deep-forest pitch. Facilities cover the essentials—showers, a toilet block, washing-up sinks—though the terrain can be uneven underfoot and some pitches sit on gravel or loose mud, so sturdy pegs help. Electric hook-ups are available for motorhomes, and the relaxed welcome extends to groups, dogs, and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions year-round.

What visitors say
From the moment we walked in, the staff were genuinely warm, welcoming and helpful. It’s one of those places where everyone seems happy to be there, and that kind of atmosphere is contagious. The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, beautifully prepared and the kind of food that makes you wonder why supermarket sandwiches ever became socially acceptable. Then came the farm shop… If you’re someone who pops in for “just one thing,” I wish you the very best of luck. Every corner is packed with temptation. Beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables, locally sourced meats, homemade treats and enough delicious goodies to convince yourself that buying cake is actually supporting local agriculture. It’s basically a farmers’ market with commitment issues. One of the things we loved most was their ethos of wasting as little as possible. You can really feel the care that’s gone into everything they do, and it makes shopping there feel even more special. After successfully resisting buying half the shop (only just), we wandered through the Pick Your Own flower meadows, which were absolutely stunning. Row after row of beautiful blooms, buzzing with bees and butterflies, it felt like walking through the opening scene of a feel-good movie. They also have Pick Your Own fruit and vegetables, loads of parking, and enough to keep both adults and children happily exploring for hours. Our verdict? 🌻 Flowers: Beautiful. 🍓 Produce: Fresh, colourful and dangerously easy to overbuy. 🍰 Farm shop: Wallet-threatening in the very best way. 😊 Staff: An absolute delight from start to finish. If wholesome had a headquarters, this would be it. We’ll definitely be back… although next time we may need to arrive with an empty boot, a bigger shopping budget and someone whose only job is to stop us saying, “Go on then… let’s just get one more jar of chutney.”

Had an a amazing experience today. Pumpkin picking for the pub i work in. 2nd year in a row we have been there. Lady on the till was very friendly. We had a lot of pumpkins 🎃 for the autumn/halloween display of all shapes and sizes, I love that we could pick the ones we wanted. Makes the experience a lot more fun. Prices are not expensive at all in my opinion. We got a huge one for 15 pound. And when the car was all loaded tou can stop for a hot or cold drink and something delicious and home made from the shop. Im sure we will be back next year for more fun 😁

PYO is brilliant, fantastic fruit and veg. But the coffee need improving. Trouble is I drink it black so I can taste a good coffee, which wasn't good. I'm sure the white is fine, bit then your just drinking coffee flavoured milk
