Pear Tree Cottage

Photo: Tanya Tanya

Pear Tree Cottage works well for families after a base camp for Norfolk's attractions, or groups wanting their own space without the isolation. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms—a double and two pairs of singles—with one bathroom containing a bath and shower. The ground floor holds the living room, kitchen and dining area, opening onto an enclosed courtyard with seating; a second double bedroom is upstairs. Oil heating, electricity, bed linen and wifi are included, and a travel cot and highchair are available.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, dishwasher and microwave. You get a parking space for three or four cars on site. A pub is within a mile's walk, and shops a quarter-mile away. The cottage sits within the owner's grounds, offering genuine seclusion with an enclosed garden, though you're well-positioned for exploring Breckland and beyond. Banham Zoo, complete with adventure playground, is close by; a fishing lake is within walking distance. Thetford Forest, roughly twelve miles away, has forest walks, cycling routes and wildlife hides. Snetterton racing circuit is four miles off. Smoking is not permitted.

Fantastic barn conversion, full of charm. Country side is on your doorstep. Very easy to get to all the sights. We're still here and enjoying every minute.

Absolutely loved the peace, a nice cottage that easily slept 6 of us, parking was good. Host was polite, and made us feel welcome.

Middle of countryside but in reach of Thetford, Diss and Norwich. Banham Zoo is on the other side of Banham village. There is a post office/shop in Banham and Onestop opposite the zoo. Cottage is cosy and sleeps six. TV and WiFi. Kitchen has dishwasher, washing machine, cooker and fridge freezer. Able to walk our dogs nearby. Also visited Norfolk Tank Museum near Forncett.
