Definitely worth a visit! The gardens must be even more beautiful outside of a drought period, when everything is in full bloom. However, even despite the very dry conditions and many flowers already being withered, I was really impressed by the wonderful wildflower areas. I especially appreciated the effort to create habitats for butterflies, bees, and other wildlife. There were already many butterflies and bees enjoying the wildflowers, and I think it is fantastic that there is such a large area dedicated to nature — not only within the gardens but also beyond them. In times when natural habitats are becoming increasingly limited, it is so important to create spaces like this instead of only having traditional lawns that turn brown during droughts. The castle itself is beautifully presented, very interesting, and well maintained. The staff were all extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They were happy to chat, answer questions, and share interesting stories about the place. A wonderful visit combining history, nature, and a real commitment to supporting wildlife.

Another fantastic National Trust property. Wonderful gardens, great house and attached chapel. A large kitchen garden area to explore. A small farm. A usual quality reaturant built into the stables. Definitely worth a visit and its ~3 hours to explore eveything or longer if you want to.

Stunning grounds, incredible house, HUGE car park with lots of family friendly options. Our 8&9 year olds enjoyed the play areas, tennis courts and architecture within the main house. The grounds were beautiful and everywhere was so well maintained. Lots of trees for shade during the really hot weather. Great to learn about and see the ‘bodgers’ working in the courtyard. A huge second hand book store with reading area for children, large shop and cafe.

We had a fantastic day out in glorious sunshine at Tyntesfield today. We did the longer of the three walks, coloured orange on the map. The kitchen gardens were our first stop and it was great to see so many volunteers giving up their time to help with the gardening. It was very warm in the greenhouses which haven't seen the sun for many months. We then walked to the house for a tour of the rooms. Again, the volunteers were so helpful. Their knowledge of the rooms and their contents made our visit really interesting. We exited the house via the chapel and walked back to the second hand bookshop, where we were able to pick up a couple of books for our grandchildren. From there it was a short walk back through the exit to our car. We loved our visit today and we will return.
