About Baltic Wharf Caravan and Motorhome Club Site
Baltic Wharf sits in Backwell, a village on the southern edge of Bristol where countryside gives way to urban fringe. This is caravan and motorhome territory rather than tent camping – pitches are for those with their own accommodation. The site has showers on hand, which is the key facility listed.
The setting is semi-rural; you are within easy reach of Bristol but not hemmed in by it. Velocity Paintball Bristol is just down the road if you want activity beyond the site itself. This is functional camping country rather than a beauty spot – handy for accessing the city while keeping your base outside it.

A lovely few nights here. Friendly owners who leave you to it. Large grassy level area with views over the field fenced off apart from entrance. It is close to the airport and noise level seems to depend on take off direction which changes, but not annoying and no flights during the night that we noticed. Facilities are excellent with a shed for waste and recycling. The roads around can be busy due to the airport but mainly at commuting times. Very well signposted from the road and up the gravel track to the site. I would recommend approaching the site entrance with larger units from the East as its a tight turn otherwise. We have had a lovely stay and a great walk at Brean too.

Lovely place. Quiet. Their are planes close by, but not noisy or annoying. I wish I had time to spend a few more days, but was on a time limit. A robin kept visiting us, which was lovely. Still one of the original CLs with ehu included. No fussiness just perfect. Internet not really available unless you go to the right of the site and you can just get signal.

A lovely site facing woods and fields. Few facilities but the important ones, fresh water, toilet waste disposal and hookup. Would have given 5* but the noise from the airport was noisy at times. Often it didn't bother us much but sometimes there were quite a few flights at one time. Nice walks nearby as well.

Willis's Batch is accessed via a steep, winding, unmade road that could be quite a challenge with a larger vehicle or outfit. The pitches are all on grass and due to the amount of rain that had fallen were quite squelchy. We got stuck and needed assistance to get off the pitch in the morning. It's very secluded but not exactly peaceful due to the proximity to the airport.
