About Novotel Bristol Centre
Close to Temple Meads station and a short trip from the SS Great Britain, Novotel Bristol Centre on Victoria Street makes a sound base for exploring the city, whether you're arriving by train or driving in and using the on-site parking. The surrounding area also offers nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment, so evenings out don't require much planning.
The hotel has 131 rooms across four floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and room service available. Beds and room space are a genuine strength, though some rooms could do with better upkeep, so it's worth bearing that in mind. A restaurant and bar operate on site alongside a snack bar, and breakfast draws particular praise for its range of fresh options.
Beyond the rooms, guests have access to a gym, spa and sauna, plus meeting rooms and business services for those travelling with work in mind. Staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful, and extras like laundry service, luggage storage and concierge support round out a stay built around convenience rather than frills. Pets are welcome, and electric vehicle charging is available on site.
What guests say
The hotel was lovely. The car park is at the back of the hotel and was easy to access. The location is great, as you can walk to pretty much anywhere in Bristol from the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast had a great variety of options, and everything was fresh and tasty. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The whole team was welcoming, friendly, and polite throughout our stay.

2nd time I've been here. Great location with underground parking (extra £18/day). Tesco & corner shop just up the road, pub next door, walking distance to train station. Public areas very nice, rooms ok, semi recent updates, with usb sockets etc, bath & shower, looks like my room had an adjoining room internal door so that's a useful option if you've got kids/family with you. No pool but I think there's a gym/sauna on the 4th floor.

I had a very poor experience with the handling of my booking and Best Price Guarantee claim. I submitted my request on 13 July and was told it had been received and was being verified, but I still had no proper resolution when I chased for an update. When I spoke to the hotel directly, the manager Olivia was dismissive and rude. She told me the hotel could match the base rate but would not honour the agreed discount because no payment had been made, which does not reflect the terms of the Best Price Guarantee. What made this worse was the condescending comment I was given about trying to find cheaper hotel rooms elsewhere. I found the whole interaction unprofessional and upsetting. I cancelled my booking and am staying elsewhere. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel. Hotels are about a home away from home. Supposed to be a 4 star but they have 1star customer service.

This Novotel has excellent, top tier staff who are so lovely and welcoming! Great customer service. The reception, bar and restaurant areas are presented beautifully, it resembles a modern 1920s with a rustic/bougie twist. Location is great, 10 minute or less walk to Bristol Temple Meads. 20 minutes walk to Hippodrome, Beacon…etc. also bus stops outside hotel. Also they have a Carpark, 2 hours for £8 is the lowest price I saw at a glance. Breakfast had a buffet of full English (hot, fresh and delicious. Veggie sausages out with the other breakfast items), breads with spreads, cereals, fruits, continental with pastries and pancakes. Milk alternatives are readily available and clearly labelled next to the “normal” milk. Tea and coffees machine are easy to use and tasty. The room itself is spacious! Great size but they need to be updated. Be warned the rooms are not sound proof, walking up and down the corridor you can hear people talking in their rooms and while you’re in the room you can hear outside! The room I stayed in needed a new sink in the bathroom as it had a biiiig chip in the middle, the bath’s faucet was coming off the tub, the shower was low pressured. The bed was okay, good size (very squeaky, IYKYK). The tv had normal everyday channels which is fine but the signal in the room was dodgy so made the tv glitch out quite a bit (haha) and others may complain about not being able to connect to streaming services from their devices to cast onto the tv. Overall it’s a good hotel because of the location, atmosphere and the staff.
