What guests say
Wow... this place has gone downhill.... we decided to have the last meal of our holiday at The Falcon... ate here several times 3 years ago and food was great, this time the food was OK but what spoilt our experience more than anything was the tribe of children allowed to run riot around people sat trying to enjoy a drink or meal outside, the parents allowed them to play with a football, run along the wall besides people eating and generally scream and shout.... when someone took them to task about the children the father was verbally abusive to him... telling him to get a life and that they are kids.... as he clearly had 8 or 9 children in varying ages from toddler to teen then surely its his job to parent them and ensure the Falcons patrons are not disturbed by his brood... we've also seen them running around the Brendon Arms but not as bad as tonight's experience.... I don't know if the father has links to the Falcon but that really gives him no right to allow his children to treat it as their playground and upset people who are paying a lot of money to stay, eat and drink at the hotel. His arrogant attitude as he strutted around was obvious. Such a shame to see this hotel change so much. On a positive, the man behind the bar and the lady running service in the Coachman were lovely, and so helpful with my daughters dietary needs. The Brendon Arms is definitely better on the food front... at least they can cook chips without them being overcooked and greasy.

Really lovely time staying at the Falcon, staff are all incredibly friendly and professional. We had a Sunday lunch whilst waiting to check in and it was absolutely delicious, fantastic quality meat and lots of lovely well cooked seasonal veg and tasty roast potatoes. Rooms are clean and functional however they are a little dated, but if you're lucky enough to get a room with views over the canal like we did then you wouldn't be disappointed. Breakfast was also extremely good, hot and well cooked, good quality ingredients with a plentiful buffet bar all set out in the welcoming and newly decorated Tides restaurant. Would recommend ⭐️

Lovely place. Bit old fashioned ie not absolutely everything in the rooms fits/works optimally but all part of the charm. Beautiful location and general aesthetic Can’t seem to review separately but the recent-ish restaurant Tide and Table is absolutely fantastic. Real high quality food, interesting dishes, not insanely expensive. Big recommend.
