Kings Forest Caravan and Camping Park

Adults-only touring park on the edge of King's Forest, 5 miles from Bury St Edmunds
About Kings Forest Caravan and Camping Park
Kings Forest Caravan and Camping Park occupies a lovely forested setting at Wideham Farm in West Stow, directly opposite the reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village and country park. This adults-only site (no under-18s) runs April to October and offers level, free-draining grass pitches—both with and without electric hook-up—plus a handful of glamping pods for non-campers. The real draw is instant access to miles of quiet cycling and walking trails threading through King's Forest, combined with genuinely peaceful surroundings and dark skies for stargazing.
Facilities cover the essentials: a shower and toilet block, pot-wash area, dog wash station (dogs welcome on lead, no extra charge), and Wi-fi, though mobile signal can be patchy in this rural corner of west Suffolk. Bury St Edmunds sits five miles away, Newmarket a little further, making the site a practical base for both market towns as well as forest exploration. With limited pitch numbers and the adults-only policy, advance booking is recommended for weekends throughout the season.

What visitors say
Lovely host to campsite. Really beautiful and quite camping fields surrounded by paddocks. Access to the forest one side and opposite to the country park with river and lake walk. We had the lovely sunshine when we stayed in a camper on the non electric field so made our trip even better. We even had an ice cream van come round! Dog friendly. Clean showers and toilets. Some pot holes on the non electric field, so be careful whilst walking across it but where we parked was flat so didn't need levellers. Being close to horses bring some citronella as there are the occasional fly that maybe bothersome. We would certainly go back if we are in the area again!

Writing this review while still on premises as there will be nothing that will change my mind. First hit-space, you pitch or park wherever you like, 2nd it's quiet, no cry babies as this is adult only campsite, 3rd the owner was just amazing, she welcomed us warmly. There's everything you need as a human being, toilets, washing stations, showers, bins and even fire extinguishers. Plenty of horses nearby, flying aircrafts wind and sun. 😉

Just the loveliest campsite. Clean, spacious, quiet, facilities spotless and in a location to die for. Beautiful walks through the forest and the sunsets are spectacular. Always helpful, friendly staff/owners. Dog owners paradise! I often visit just for a night away. If you live on your phone though mobile reception is very sketchy but that's to be expected due to location.
