Ashgrove Leisure's Waterside Lodge Five sits within a 40-acre country estate in Calderdale, bordered by woodland, lakes and canal frontage. The setting is rural and secluded, though the lodge itself is one of several on the grounds. The landscape here was once the parkland surrounding Ashgrove Hall, and that sense of established grounds remains – mature trees, water views, and enough space to feel genuinely removed from everyday surroundings.

Across three floors, the property sleeps eight in four bedrooms: two zip-and-link super kings on the lower ground floor (each with walk-in shower and toilet), a third zip-and-link super king on the ground floor, and a double on the same level. The ground floor also contains a family bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, an open-plan living area with woodburner and smart TV opens onto a decked balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering – electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer – and there is a washing machine for longer stays. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; initial logs for the woodburner are provided. A private hot tub for six sits on the decked area overlooking the waterfront. One dog is welcome at no extra charge.

The lodge suits groups and larger families wanting space to spread out, with secure parking for four cars on site and step-free access to most living areas (though there are 3 steps to the entrance and 12 steps down to the main decked terrace). The grounds contain a fenced lake – accessed via 8 steps – and 550 yards of canal frontage. No smoking indoors.
