Here you'll find an open-plan space with a 55-inch smart TV, woodburner, and bi-folding doors that lead out to a balcony overlooking the grounds. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, microwave and washing machine; what you cook, you can eat at the dining table beside those same views.

The middle floor holds two bedrooms and a family bathroom. The lower level contains the third bedroom and another en-suite, with direct access onto a decked terrace. Two of the bedrooms have zip-and-link beds that can be configured as either super king or twin singles; the third has two standard single beds. Electricity, heating (including underfloor in the bathrooms), bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The property sits on 40 acres of grounds shared with other holiday lodges—woodland, a lake and canal frontage are within the estate—but your hot tub (which seats six) is private to you alone, as is parking for two cars.

One well-behaved pet stays free. No smoking indoors. The property suits families or groups who want both space and privacy, with enough outdoor decking to make use of in decent weather. Ashgrove Country Park once formed the grounds of a historic hall, and the grounds remain a quiet setting for a break away.
