Ashgrove Leisure - Waterside Lodge One

Waterside Lodge One is a substantial timber-built house spread across three floors, set within 40 acres of parkland on the Ashgrove estate. It sleeps eight across four bedrooms, each with a zip-and-link super king bed (convertible to two singles) except the fourth, which has a double. Three bathrooms mean nobody fights for shower time. The whole lodge is yours alone, with private parking for four cars and a hot tub for six on a private decked area overlooking the water.

The top floor is a single open-plan living space with a woodburner, smart TV, and bi-folding doors onto a balcony. The kitchen has an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge; you can cook properly or rely on basics. The ground floor has a family bathroom and two bedrooms. Lower down are the remaining two bedrooms; one has an ensuite and glass walls facing the decked terrace. Heating, electricity, linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all covered. A welcome pack is provided, and logs for the woodburner are included.

The grounds hold shared woodland and there are 550 yards of canal frontage within the estate, though the lake itself is eight steps from the house. Families with small children should know travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are available on request. No smoking indoors. This suits families needing space, groups of friends, or couples who want a proper break away from ordinary surroundings.
