About Oakside Lodge
Canterbury's cathedral quarter and historic streets are within easy reach of Oakside Lodge, while the surrounding Kent countryside offers golf and fishing for those who'd rather stay outdoors. A pub, restaurant and other eateries are all nearby too, so there's no shortage of places to eat once you've explored.
Oakside Lodge itself is a converted barn on Roman Road, giving the rooms a bit more character than a standard guesthouse. Each comes with an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. A full breakfast is included, and there's a bar on site for an evening drink. Outside, a garden and picnic area give guests somewhere to sit away from the road.
Free on-site parking makes this a straightforward base for driving into Canterbury or out into the countryside, and 24-hour reception means arrival times are never an issue.

Beautiful location set in 5 acres of woodland with two gorgeous pigs 🐖. On arrival we were welcomed and given the key to our room and was given directions as to where we could get food and drink which was very helpful. At breakfast we had the pleasure of meeting Stewart who is an extremely hard working, kind and lovely man. He has a great sense of humour but makes it clear that your happiness is important to him. Breakfast was amazing very hot and filling. Rooms are nice and comfortable with a nice water heater for hot drinks and biscuits. Definitely a place we would stay again.

We stayed at Oakside Lodge, just for 2 nights. We found it very good, clean, tidy and a good sized room. Very good breakfast and the host was very genial. There is no air-conditioning but the room did have a floor standing fan provided. It’s a great location for travelling into Canterbury with a bus-stop just a few yards outside the lodge entrance driveway. Only thing to watch for is, whilst the X3 bus is a short ride into Canterbury, it does not return to either of the 2 stops nearest the lodge as it goes a different way back from Canterbury. The nearest stop is the Flyover, which is a good 10 minute walk back to the lodge. The host recommended The Hare at Blean for evening meals, a short easy drive away, we ate their both nights and it was excellent.
