Walk through the entrance and you step into an open-plan ground floor where living, dining and kitchen flow together beneath high ceilings. French doors open from both the living area and dining space onto a patio; the kitchen has electric cooking, a dishwasher and all the basics for self-catering. Two of the four bedrooms are on the ground floor—one a four-poster king with its own spa bath and shower, the other a zip-and-link super king (divisible into two singles) with a walk-in shower. A third bedroom, also ground floor with zip-and-link configuration and patio access, has another walk-in shower. The fourth bedroom is upstairs, a king with an ensuite shower. All four rooms have their own bathrooms and heating is via underfloor systems fed from a ground source. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.
Outside, the enclosed garden has a hot tub for seven people and a private unheated swimming pool (9m x 5.5m, 1m–1.4m deep, open late May to September). The patio has furniture and a barbecue, and there is parking for four cars. The property sits above the tidal banks of the River Towy, with views across to Llansteffan and Carmarthen Bay; the Wales Coast Path runs alongside. No smoking inside. A laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available, and a welcome pack is provided.

What guests say
Well, where to start. The owners met us on arrival and instantly made us feel welcome. They couldn't do enough for us. The holiday home is stunning (see photographs) and the view across the river is even nicer from the hot tub. My wife and I picked this place for our extended family to join us on vacation and it hasn't disappointed. Honestly, I can't say enough nice things about this whole experience, it made a great holiday very special. Thank you.

We've had a perfect week of rest, relaxation and explored the area. Keith and Lesley were great hosts, greeted us upon arrival, put us at ease, never intrusive but there if you needed anything. The Barn offers you everything you need plus that little bit more. Pool was a real bonus and we all enjoyed the piece and quiet offered by this well located but secluded farm. Would love to return.

We had a wonderful week staying with friends at Wheelwright Barn (4x adults and 4x kids). It was the ideal base to explore this part of South Wales. The Barn had every amenity we needed and was a home away from home with a fully stocked kitchen making preparing meals a pleasure. We made excellent use of the pool and hot tub despite the rain and the not so tropical temperatures but soaking up the lovely views across the river. The owners were delightful and very willing to share their local knowledge with us when asked. We would definitely recommend and will return.

Beautiful, peaceful stay at this well renovated farm. Perfectly appointed accommodation and great spot for heading off for walks or day trips. Owners are absolutely lovely, were wonderful with our children, always ready to give advice. This was our second trip here and it never disappoints. View from the hot tub is pretty special.
