Tanyrallt Holidays Lets - Y Smithy
Carmarthenshire
Y Smithy began life as a working forge in 1826 and now operates as a restored holiday cottage for two, retaining period character alongside modern essentials. The ground floor is open-plan: a living area with woodburner and Smart TV flows into a dining space and small kitchen fitted with an electric hob, microwave and fridge. Upstairs, a galleried bedroom contains a double bed overlooking the living area below. A shower room completes the layout. One dog or cat may stay; the property is non-smoking. Parking for one car sits on site, and you have access to shared grounds across the acre.
Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all provided, along with initial fuel for the woodburner. The cottage sits deep in Carmarthenshire countryside near Llanybydder, a market village surrounded by rural landscapes. Brechfa Forest lies close by for walking and mountain biking. The Teifi River offers fishing and kayaking downstream. Lampeter, a university town with independent shops and cafés, is a short drive away, as is Llanerchaeron, a National Trust property with walled gardens. Aberaeron and New Quay are within reach for a coastal day out—the latter known for beaches, boat trips and seafood. Dolaucothi Gold Mines and Cors Caron Nature Reserve provide further options for exploration.
