About The Old Workshop
Surrounded by the hills and limestone dales of the Peak District, Castleton is the kind of village where the countryside starts at the end of the street, and The Old Workshop sits right within it. This small, adults-only guest accommodation has just two rooms, making it a quiet base rather than a bustling hotel, with a garden and outdoor seating area to sit out and take in the surroundings.
Guests have use of a kitchen, and free parking is available on-site, useful given the rural setting. There's no restaurant on the premises, but pubs, bars and eateries can all be found nearby in the village, so evenings out are easily managed on foot.
The location is the main draw: Peveril Castle and Mam Tor are both within easy reach, and the surrounding area is well suited to walking, cycling and horse riding, with a golf course also nearby. It's a practical, low-key spot for exploring the Peak District rather than a destination in itself.
